The Education Department of Bihar State has issued new instructions to make the Mid-Day Meal Scheme more transparent and effective.
This initiative is aimed at eliminating fake attendance and ensuring the quality of food items. From now on, it will be mandatory for the headmaster of the school and all the teachers present to sign the certificate confirming the quality of food every day.
What changes have been made in the Mid-Day Meal Scheme?
The government has implemented the following new rules under this scheme:
- Creation of certificate necessary every day – It has become necessary for every school to make a certificate for the Mid-Day Meal Scheme daily, which will have to confirm the quality of food items, nutritional standards, and availability of food to the children.
- Signature of the headmaster and all the teachers present is required – This certificate must be signed by all the teachers present, including the headmaster of the school, to ensure that the meal scheme is running smoothly and correctly.
- The certificate will be kept safe in the school – This certificate will be kept safe by the school administration and the officials will be informed about it during inspection.
- The certificate will be used as evidence if any deficiency is found in the food – If the quality of food items is found to be low in any school or children are not able to get food, then this certificate will be the main basis, and action can be taken against the concerned officials.
- Disciplinary action will be taken if not signed – If a teacher refuses to sign this certificate, it will be seen as indiscipline.
