Treasuries will be open on 1 and 2 February, Patna, 31 January 2025. The Finance Department of the Bihar Government has launched the new CFMS 2.0 (Comprehensive Financial Management System) to operate all financial operations in the state starting in January 2025. This latest version will replace the former CFMS 1.0.

Technical difficulties in implementing CFMS 2.0

In the government’s investigation, it was found that after the implementation of CFMS 2.0, some departments and offices are facing technical difficulties in generating salary bills. Keeping this in mind, the Finance Department has taken necessary measures to avoid any kind of delay in salary payment.

Special decision: Treasuries will remain open on the 1st and 2nd of February
The Finance Department has issued an order stating that all the treasuries across the state will remain open on 1st February 2025 (Saturday) and 2nd February 2025 (Sunday) to properly complete the process of salary payment. This decision has been taken to ensure the salary distribution of all government employees.

Instructions to all concerned officers
The Finance Department has directed all the Principal Secretaries, Departmental Secretaries, District Magistrates, and other concerned officers to immediately follow all the guidelines related to preparation of salary bills. Along with this, the officers and employees working in the treasury office will be present at their workplace on 1st February (Saturday).

What will be the benefit of CFMS 2.0?

CFMS 2.0 is an advanced financial management system, which will make government financial functioning more transparent and effective. Through this, all the financial transactions of the state will be made online and automated, which will save time and reduce the chances of mistakes.

This step is an important effort of the Bihar government to encourage digital transactions and make government payment processes more smooth.
