Patna, 24 October 2024 – The Education Department (Directorate of Secondary Education) of the Bihar State Government has issued a new direction related to the Study Leave of TRE-1 and TRE-2 teachers. In this regard, Director of Secondary Education Yogendra Singh has sent a letter to all the District Education Officers.
What are the latest guidelines?
Under the recent guidelines, teachers appointed from TRE-1 and TRE-2 will get study leave for higher education acquisition only when the department considers it necessary. The need for guidance on this subject was stated in many districts, in response to which the government has said that the teachers’ needs and the department’s priorities will be kept in mind while approving the study leave.
Terms and conditions related to leave
Under Rules 180 and 236 of the Bihar Service Code, teachers can avail extraordinary leave every year. However, this facility will be provided only if it does not affect the teaching process of the schools. The leave obtained under this rule will not be considered a privilege, but it will be a request to be approved through the approval process.
Studies in schools will not be affected
The government has clarified that the approval of study leave will be based on the fact that it does not have any negative impact on the educational activities of the school. If a teacher is granted study leave, it will be ensured that there is no interruption in the educational activities in the schools.
Detailed instructions to the districts
The education department has told all the district education officers to follow these instructions while verifying the applications received for study leave and ensure that there is no teaching interruption due to the approval of the leave of TRE-1 and TRE-2 teachers.
What steps will be taken next?
After the implementation of this new instruction, a clear process will be laid down for the study leave of TRE-1 and TRE-2 teachers. This allows teachers to get higher education and there will be no impact on the pace of study in schools.
This decision is a part of the government’s education reform efforts to improve the capacity of teachers in the state and provide better education to students.
